A PRD is useful as a starting point for any new feature or product idea. Any good PRD should have a problem statement and a possible solution/hypothesis to solve that problem with the support of data.
Including an imaginary Press Release with the PRD is a good practice to keep focused on the future state we desire and the outcome we want for the customer.
Myntra is an online clothing and accessories website, taken as an example in this sample PRD. This is not an offcial document of any sort. It is just a sample of a PRD that I would write.

Objective, Hypothesis and Data
Objective:
Increase the percentage of new users who make a purchase in the first 24 hours from <5 to ~15%.
Hypothesis:
Providing a better on-boarding experience to collect preferences data of the user, and showing recommendations as per preferences will make it easier for the buyer to find what he is looking for
Data:
Home page gets the most hot clicks with users going back and forth between categories, and bouncing out within 3 minutes
60% of the users tend to spend more time browsing through categories and do not land on an actual product listing within first 1-2 minutes
User Pain Points:
I had to apply a lot of filters to see relevant listings. It was very tedious
